DZKJ-PI Prof. Dr. Peter Rehling, Director of the Institute of Cell Biochemistry at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG), was elected a foreign member of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN). This membership is one of the highest honors for internationally distinguished scientists and specifically recognizes Prof. Rehling’s scientific achievements as well as his long-standing commitment to German-Polish research collaboration.
Together with Polish colleagues, Prof. Rehling is researching the fundamental mechanisms of mitochondrial protein biogenesis. His election to the PAN is expected to further strengthen this long-standing cooperation and open up new perspectives for international basic research.
