DZKJ – partner site Greifswald/Rostock
The partner site Greifswald/Rostock is an interdisciplinary consortium with a unique joint research focus in community medicine.
At the Greifswald/Rostock site, the entire continuum of community medicine can be implemented, from basic epidemiological research to healthcare and prevention research. The infrastructure includes excellent connections to a broad network of medical and community partners, expertise in telemedicine and eHealth, expertise in the development and implementation of Patient-Reported Outcome and Experience Measures, several population-based cohorts including study centers and an independent trust office with fully digitized instruments for consent and ID management.
There are currently 12 DZKJ research groups working at the Greifswald/Rostock site.
Research profile
The overarching goal of research at the DZKJ in Greifswald/Rostock is to comprehensively analyze prevention approaches and healthcare concepts as well as access routes, individual somatic, psychosocial and socio-economic factors in children and adolescents and their reference systems (e.g. families, schools) in order to break down barriers and enable equal access to healthcare and prevention.
In order to achieve this goal, a number of specific research topics have been defined:
- Access & Reach (CM networks for model populations in model regions)
- Capacity Building (network-based safeguarding of expertise and competencies for general and specialized pediatric healthcare)
- Patient-Reported Outcomes and Experience Measures
- Patient, Parents, Public Involvement (development of participation in the design, implementation and evaluation of research projects) and cohort research (including the Study of Neonates in Pomerania and participation in the establishment of a DZKJ cohort)
Community Medicine offers a variety of networking opportunities with other sites, ranging from the inclusion of other patient groups and settings to the transfer of site innovations beyond the clinical trial phase and the development of structures for reverse translation.
